National NAACP Takes Over Philadelphia Chapter Following Antisemitism Uproar + More Antisemitism-Related Headlines

 
The National NAACP has taken over the organization’s Philadelphia chapter in light of an antisemitic Facebook posting by chapter president Minister Rodney Muhammad (pictured), which led to a firestorm of criticism. For his part, Muhammad said he didn’t realize the image in question was antisemitic. Given the description in the quote below, that claim does not seem credible. Muhammad has been removed from his post.

Similar caricatures trace back to before the Holocaust, and were often used to depict Jews as a force of greed and oppression.
