Antisemitism — hatred directed at the Jewish people — has existed in various forms for two millennia. Although many thought the horrors of the Holocaust would wipe it forever from the face of the Earth, antisemitism has resurfaced strongly in recent years. (Indeed, it never went away completely.) In the three videos linked below, a variety of scholars on the topic delve into the origins, persistence, and uniqueness of Jew-hatred.
Quote: “Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities.”
— part of the definition of antisemitism from the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA)
