If you are under the misapprehension that there are limits to crazy conspiracy theories about the Jewish people, think again.
One noted UFOlogist and purveyor of wild-and-wacky ideas is Linda Moutlon-Howe, an “investigative journalist” who has claimed, among many other things, that the U.S. government is in cahoots with extraterrestrials.
Her ideas have been widely disseminated though public appearances and Internet videos. Unsurprisingly, the video in question here seems to have been taken down. I watched it several times a few years back, however, and I’ll recount what I saw to the best of my recollection.
In this video, Moulton-Howe postulated that Jews — whom she referred to as Hebrews — actually are shape-shifting space creatures of the Reptilian variety. The Reptilians, a well-known category of out-of-this-world races within certain human circles, are thought to be evil.
A second widely believed category of space aliens are tall, blond, blue-eyed folks who look pretty much exactly like earthlings. They are the Nordics and are considered to be good.
In the video I’m referring to, Moulton-Howe painted an “alternative reality” of what the Second World War was about. It was, she said, a monumental struggle between the Nordics (or Aryans) and the Reptilians (the Hebrews).
The fact that Adolf Hitler was hardly a tall, blond, blue-eyed Nordic is an interesting point. Perhaps Nordics are shape-shifters, too.
If you think I’m making all this up, rest assured I am not. My point is that if people can believe such loony ideas — and many of Moulton-Howe’s devotees undoubtedly do — they will believe anything about Jews.
It is easy to scoff at these things; they are funny. For my part, whenever I tell people about this Moulton-Howe idea, I flick my tongue rapidly in and out of my mouth. It never fails to get a laugh.
Unfortunately, the history of the Jewish people shows that no matter how bizarre antisemitic beliefs may be, there always is a danger they can progress from craziness to violent, even deadly, action.
Take the age-old notion that Jews, being “the Devils’ spawn,” have horns. (Is the fact nobody has ever seen such horns more proof of nefarious Jewish shape-shifting power?)
In truth, the horns smear stemmed from a misinterpretation of a passage in the Torah that says when Moses came down from Mount Sinai, he had karnaim, Hebrew for horns or rays of light, emanating from his head.
Over the centuries many Jews have suffered and even been killed because of that one word. The shape-shifting Reptilian hypothesis and other equally preposterous notions may be amusing, but they should not be written off as harmless and ignored.
